indesign and photoshop

hi folks...i have an old indesign 2 that is installed and working on windows 10 fine no problems. I cannot install photoshop 6 an oldie like me. Do the new various forms of photoshop work with the old indesign 2 anyone??

It's been twenty-odd years since I used InDesign version 2, if that's really the version you mean. While Photoshop has had some signifgicant changes in two decades, I don't think there's a lot of difference in the actual file format that would be a problem. Saving as .tif or .jpg should be compatible, even if native .psd is not (I'm think about smart objects in Photoshop and if they might be a problem).

Why not try placing a new .psd to see?

  1. You can place in InDesign all native PSD, TIFF, PDF/PDP files with layers and you can also select Layer Compositions (what I recommend if you use layers) when you import/place your images. 
    in aspect of quality it is better to use these file types instead of PNGs
