Question

InDesign (beta) 20.6 does not open

My laptop uses a Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-42100) processor, so I had to install the beta versions of Adobe applications.

I recently installed InDesign (beta) 20.6, but it neither opens nor displays an error message.

Is there any way to solve this issue?

Note: I also installed Illustrator (beta), which works.

Hi @Micaela_Chammah5383,

Sorry to hear you're running into this. I just wanted to check in and see if you were able to try the expert's suggestion, and whether it helped get InDesign (beta) to open on your system.

Please let us know if the issue is resolved now or if you're still facing it, so we can look into next steps and assist you further.

@Micaela_Chammah5383 it is definitely because of the ARM architecture of your Snapdragon X Plus processor. While Photoshop and Lightroom now run natively on Windows ARM, InDesign still relies on a Beta version for ARM support.

Adobe has released a specific fix for this. Download and run the Visual C++ Runtime Repair Tool (FixVCRuntime.exe). https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/acrobat/desktop/troubleshoot/performance-issues/acrobat-crashes-arm64-windows.html
