InDesign (Beta) shows "out of date" warning even though Creative Cloud confirms 21.6 is the latest version

Hi, I'm using InDesign (Beta) via the AI Assistant panel, and every time I submit a prompt, I get this message:

"This version of InDesign (Beta) is out of date. Update to 21.6.0.58 or later to keep working. Get it from Creative Cloud > Apps > Beta > InDesign (Beta)."

The problem is, when I go to Creative Cloud Desktop > Apps > InDesign (Beta), it shows Version 21.6 as the currently installed version, and under "Other versions" it lists 21.6 as the latest version available (with only older builds — 21.5, 21.4, 21.3, 21.2 — listed below it). There's no option to update to anything newer than 21.6.

I've already tried:

  • Fully quitting and relaunching the app
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign (Beta) completely

The warning persists every time. Is 21.6.0.58 not yet rolled out to all accounts/regions? Is there a way to manually check for or force this specific sub-version? Any help would be appreciated — I'm trying to use the AI Assistant to set up a new document and can't get past this message.

System info:

  • Creative Cloud Desktop version: 6.10.0.252.41

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi @Festive_critic719a,

Sorry you're running into this, especially after already reinstalling the Beta.

Could you please go to Help > About InDesign and share the full version/build number? We’d like to confirm whether the installed build is 21.6.0.58 or later, as Creative Cloud showing “21.6” does not display the complete build number.

Please also open Creative Cloud Desktop > Apps > More actions (…) > Check for updates and see if a newer Beta build appears:
    https://adobe.ly/3Toj0gj

If no update appears, please sign out of Creative Cloud Desktop, restart it, sign back in, and check again.

Please let us know your observations.

    Thanks,
    Abhishek

Beta versions of InDesign are for testing, be careful about using it for “real work”, something might occur that may cause a corruption or worse!
