Question

InDesign blank document presets – delete, or at least rearrange presets?

InDesign blank document presets – i work in Australia where we don’t use the US page sizes, and several times a day, I create new InDesign files, and start with an A4, A3, A5 most times. Every time, I need to click ‘View all presets’ and scroll past the US sizes, down to these sizes. I would LOVE to be able to either delete or move Letter, Legal, Tabloid, Letter-Half, Legal-Half, US business card, Compact Disc (which I will never use), so I have my A3, A4, A5 at the top. I know this is only a minor thing, but it’s just something I would think is a no brainer to be able to do. I think most countries outside of the US would find this useful. Is there a way i haven’t found online, that anyone knows of?

You can set A4 or A5 as your default if you like…

    1. Close all documents in InDesign
    2. Go to File > Document Presets >Define
    3. Make sure Default is selected and hit Edit
    4. Choose your most used size from the dropdown
    5. Hit OK twice

From there on out, when you hit Ctrl + N or go to File >New > Document, your selected size will be the default. You’ll also have that size selected in the dropdown if you need another, bypassing the US sizes at the top.

Don’t you have the Recent and Saved layouts when you create a new file?
