Indesign book problems

I am having issues using indesign book. It constantly gets stuck and won't open. I've re-installed indesign and re-started etc.

Anyone else have this issue or is it a bug?

It helps me, when I activate in the boot panel menu to update all documents, then select all orno document and in the panel menu update all numbers.

The problem behind is that my running version is newer than the version which was used the last time I have edited the documents.

Thanks for reaching out. Could you share more details, like the version of the OS/InDesign installed and if this problem occurs with books stored in a particular folder location (internal/ external/network drive or a cloud-synced folder like iCloud Drive/Dropbox/etc.) so we can better assist you?

I am using the latest OS and indesign, I am not working on a server, just my own mac.

I also cannot open the book first, I have to have some of the book files open first for the book to open.

Screenshot attached of the window that gets stuck. The only way I can get around this is to force-quit.
