InDesign Buttons Deleting Other Page Components

Out of nowhere, InDesign's Buttons are ruining entire files of mine.

I created my portfolio, can be seen here,  and it was working fine. Today at no particular time or order, and affecting all buttons, by clicking and rolling off buttons the rest of the layers in the MSO disappear and navigation is blocked. 

I tried creating a new document and the same thing happened.

Please help!
