Indesign CC 2018 13.1 crashes when Find Font/Replace With

Can anyone help with this...

Indesign crashes when selecting 'Type / Find Font / Replace With: and on clicking on the Font Family it crashes.

I have tried restart and deleted preferences. Happens every time.

Hi pg36322203,

As per you query InDesign crashes while Type / Find Font / Replace With or any other function related to fonts. If yes, please these steps:

1) Validate Fonts in Font book : Font Book for Mac: Validate fonts in Font Book

If you get any font warnings or errors, remove fonts by clicking Remove Checked.

If it still doesn't work

2) Try steps mentioned in point 8 and 9 from this article

you probably have at least one corrupted font. check when did it start to happen and delete new installed fonts since one by one and check if the problem goes away.

advice: keep a copy of your fonts so you can install them back again.

thanks for the advice, unfortunately that didn't work. still crashes/complete termination to login screen.

Did you try deleting the cache files?

Thanks for the advice, have tried it.

Unfortunately didn't work.

Still crashes/terminates everything and goes back to login screen.

I have exactly the same issue and I have deleted the preferences file both manually and using the key sequence on boot and neither option resolves the problem. I'm using a mac and I have the latest ID installed. It happens with any ID document loaded, not just one specific ID doc.

The problem is so severe that when I click the drop down to select the replacement font, everything on my mac terminates and I am logged out and returned to the mac login screen.
