Indesign CC 2018 cross references not exporting to epub

Hello,

I have just updated to CC 2018. When I do an epub I usually create a Contents page with cross references linked to each chapter.

For years these have exported fine to a reflowable epub. Now in Indesign CC 2018 they are not working. The links are created in the epub, but they do not go to the chapters. They appear to be just linked back to themselves.

Is this a bug?

I can edit the XML file created in Dreamweaver. But I would rather this feature keeps working as before.

Or is there some new feature to cross references that I am missing.

I created a TOC for the epub after I did the cross references. Is this now not allowed? Do I need to redo all the cross references again?

TIA for any help given.

As a follow up, I have now saved all of the chapter files back to InDesign CC 2017, created a new book document and a new contents file, TOC and cross references.

The book has exported fine to epub and the cross references work fine.

So I think Adobe CC 2018 has a bug with cross references not working properly.

Hi Bob,

I am opening it in Adobe Digital Editions. I could also test in Calibre. But my problem is that all my other epubs exported using Adobe CC 2014 or 2017 open fine in Adobe Digitial Editions. And now with this one done in Adobe CC 2018 the cross references do not work.

Yes I am using a TOC using the TOC feature in ID. I have done this in several books done in Adobe CC 2017 and 2014 without problems.

I have tried exporting the epub using version 3. The cross links still don't work in the epub when I open it in Adobe Digital Editions.

Is this a bug in Adobe CC 2018? I noticed another unanswered question about this some problem on the forums.

Have you tested this in more than one epub reader? Are you exporting using epub version 3?

Is this a TOC you generated using the TOC feature in ID?
