Indesign CC 2018 Not supporting PPD(example Prinergy refinery PPD) with Mac OS Version 10.13.4

Hi ALL

Recently we come across this new issue In MAC OS 10.13.4. While creating PS to PDF (CMD+p) we need to select the PPD. Eventhough we placed the PPD in  corresponding folder but it not shown in PPD dropup menu.

But in PC it working fine.

Any one face this kind of issue, please sugggest

    HI ALL:

    At last we found the solution, Some default printer was added in the printer which was not in use. After removing it we can able to see the PPD in Indesign while creating PS to PDF.

    I also generate .ps files to distill. I prepare book covers with spot colors for separate plates for stamping, debossing, varnish...

    I know the plate makers should be able to print separations from a pdf, but for some reason, they still request separations. 

    Incidentally, I did find a simpler way to show the customer the seps. I view each plate separately in separations preview and take screen shots. This way I don't need to do that "archaic" step until the end of the project.

    But hey, I'm open to any better suggestions!

      Have you tried the following?  I have this issue you are having with every single major CC upgrade I copied this from my 2017 post -- but it just worked for me today -- as I was having the same issue you are.  Hope this helps:

      I just had an issue that I thought I would share.. I went to print to my Xitron RIP for the first time after installing Indesign CC 2017.

      All my files were printing out in 8.5x11 - when, in fact, the document setting was 22.25 x 17.25.  After finding no results in my search amongst community members I launched an investigation of my own.

      What I found was that despite Adobe telling me it was saving all my presets and settings.. it failed to make a ppd folder in the presets folder.  As soon as I made a presets folder and relaunched Indesign 2017, everything worked properly.

      I found the needed spot to be:   applications > Adobe Indesign 2017 > Presets -- add "PPDs" folder here and place your ppds inside.  Relaunch Indesign 2017 and all will be right with the world again.

      *** UPDATE with 2019 ***  Just today -- it actually made the preset folder.  And there are other folders in it.  HOWEVER, it only made a "Preset" Shortcut inside the folder.  The shortcut went nowhere.  I copied my preset folder out of 2018 that had all my saved presets as well as my folder for PPDs.  I deleted the Shortcut and replaced it with my 2018 presets folder.   Relaunched 2019 and BOOM! My ppd is back.

      Hope this saves others time..

        Why are you doing this?

        That is a horribly archaic method of PDF creation. Why not just export it?

          Hi

          One of our client still using this method for pdf creation, for rest of the client we are following Export pdf option only.

          Again, why?

          Even if you need the most dumbed down PDF, you can export to PDF/X1-a and get the same result.
