I just updated to the latest and greatest this morning.

Anybody else with this issue?

    Hi all

Adobe just dropped a new update to InDesign 2018 in our inbox.

And yes it is working on HighSierra!

Looks like we can all go back to normal.

    Just a me too post.

I cannot launch InDesign 2018 at all. And yes, it may seem to be font-related. Running El Capitan 10.11.6.

Just to confirm, I've rolled back to ID 2017, which works fine.

It's worth noting - if you use it - that Suitcase Fusion hasn't been updated to work with ID 2018 yet (or indeed any 2018 CC app).

So, unless you have a fire burning for 2018, stick with 2017 for now.

Wish I'd known Extensis didn't work with 2018 ID.  How do you roll back to 2017?

    Same problem here.

    @Font handling

I reduced the number of installed fonts on my system significantly and now there was no startup crash of ID on my system (windows).

So ... Thanks for the font handling hint.

Same here. iMac 27, late 2012, 3,4 GHz Core i7 16 GB RAM NVIDIA Geforce GTX 680 MX 2048 MB. Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6.

DIsaster, since I am a freelance. Now I am out of work soon.

[Edit: Tried to trash InDesign Preferences. InDesign still crashes at launch. Every time.]

tsmimesis you can always install ID cc2017 alongside the new one, so you can continue with your work.

I did the same thing. Hope this get fixed soon.

[EDIT] Disabling most of my fonts indeed saves the problem, but fonts are the core value of any page design app....

    Same issue here... (Windows 10)

Several crashes on startup. Restoring the preferences and re-installing didn't change anything.

It doesn't crash when running osx in safe mode. Maybe it's a font-related thing?

This reminds me of very early versions of ID. And removing all the fonts that were not needed would help to get it working...

These days you would think fonts are kind of what we use...

But wolfze is having issues on Windows 10. Font handling should be totally different there.

Thanks for all the feedback so far.

    Hi all

    Same with me.

    Late 2014 Retina iMac / 10.12.6.

Updated to InDesign 2018: immediate crash at app startup. Crashed 6 times so far.

I'm uninstalling and rolling back to InDesign 2018 as I have lots of work to do, but will watch this thread.

    Hi Romano,

Is it crashing while you try to launch InDesign? Or does it happen while you are executing some workflow within InDesign?

Can you share the crash report with us?

After the crash on my laptop I got a prompt to send a Report to Adobe.

    Would you have that?

Any manual way of creating a report for you? Happy to do this.

BTW my second install was clean, so no old preferences should be present.

Crash happens during launch. I get the ID splash screen and the first reports are going through the splash screen...

    ...then it dies.

    Same on both machines.

    Hi Romano,

Before Adobe alert, Apple shows an alert saying application has quit unexpectedly. There you will find a 'Show Details' button. If you click on that, you can find the crash report showing crash stacktrace.

Btw, can you share a small screen video showing the crash?
