    Correct answer Peter Spier

See Replace Your Preferences for the paths to where ID needs to write the preferences and check the permissions on those and the containing folders to be sure ID can write to them.

Thank you so much!! I had the same problem but with InCopy CC2014. After hours trying to solve it (including online support from Adobe), deleting those folders on AppData also worked for me!!! Thanks!!!

Same problem after upgrading yesterday to 17.0.

I was about to start monkeying with the App Data horse**** but decided to check into Creative Cloud app. There was a button for OPEN so I tried it and it opened.

    Now what?

Deleting the folders inside AppData (local and roaming) also worked for me.

Worked for me, thank you. You must delete both folders, one from

    Local:

    AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign

    and roaming:

    AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign

I had this same problem. InDesign CC crashed on "Trackers".

First I uninstalled and re-installed InDesign through the Creative Cloud app. This did not work.

Second I went into the App Data Local as well as the Roaming folders, and deleted ALL the content in the "Version 10.0" folder under InDesign.

My app started up and is working fine now.

    Great!

I have just did what you advised and everything started working! Without uninstalling the program!

    Thanks a lot!

Moving this discussion to the InDesign forum.

Malcolm Cooke did you receive any error messages during the installation process?  You can find information on how to review your installation logs for error messages at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.
