Question

InDesign CC Libraries Folder is showing unsorted in InDesign

Hello there,

im working on a file in InDesign where ich now switch all linked images to our CC Libraries. For this i created Libraries in Adobe CC with subfolders for tne different labels and images Now when i want to place from the CC Libraries in InDesign it shows me only the Parent Folder and throws everything in the subfolders together. It looks like a mess and i want to know if this is intended or am i doing something wrong? It does not feel like a good workflow for me to search with my eye for every single image. How do i get the same Folder with subfolders visible in InDesign?

Thanks.

Hi @BASE.hartmann,

Glad you found a workaround! I tried using the "Relink from CC Libraries" button, then navigating to CC Libraries, where I could see my structured arrangement and choose an image from there. Could you confirm if this is the same issue you're referring to?

Also, if possible, please share a short screen recording of your workflow and what you're trying to achieve. That would help me understand it better.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi, I'm facing the same problem, when I click on "Relink from CC Libraries", all the assets appear unsorted.

Here is a video demonstrationg the problem :

Hello @BASE.hartmann,

Would you please try using the Filter/Sort options on the Libraries panel to see if they help with your workflow?

If not, please confirm the version of InDesign installed and share screenshots or a small screen recording of the problem so I can check it with the team.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello and thanks for your Reply. We are about to switch our linked Data from a local NAS drive to CC Library and Sharepoint. I must replace images in an InDesign file every month so it would be nice if i can just klick the image and replace with a new image (which has always the same size) from the library instead of placing them manually by hand.

So i click the image and go to "replace Button" but when i click this button it shows everything inside that CC Library folder without the organized subfolder. When i just go into the Library, the subfolders are there but i cant replace the image or dont know how to do it so that it will be at the same position inside the frame like it does when i go to "replace".

Thank you!

hello again, ok i relized i can also click the image i want to replace and go to the CC Library, look for the new image with my organized subolders and right click on the new image to replace the old one. This helped me a lot. But i think it would be nice if the CC Library would behave the same way when clicking on that Replace Button (orange circle in screenshot)
