Question

InDesign CC won't open without crashing

The latest version of InDesign CC has recently decided not to open on my PC - it has previously worked fine but the last few days it constantly crashes on opening and asks me to send an error report (which I have done sooooo many times).

Action I have already taken:

Uninstalled the software three times then re-installed it;

Tried opening it independently and via opening existing files;

Re-booted my PC a million times;

Have signed out then back into Adobe CC;

Have followed Adobe's instructions (on their InDesign web page) regarding potential start up issues with my PC...

My PC details:

HP Pavilion; i7; NVIDIA GEforce Graphics.

I store all my files on an external HDD to optimise memory/performance.

I need to use ID for my uni work urgently so would really appreciate some assistance.

Thanks, Vicky

Try deleting the cashes. I think they remain on disk after you uninstall InDesign. You find them in

c:\users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 13.0\[language code]\Caches

You can delete the content of the Caches folder, but if you're nervous about that, zip up the files then delete them.
