InDesign CC2018 crashes on file open (created w CC2018)

I am trying to open two files that were created in November 2017 using InDesign CC2018.

I followed suggestions offered in other posts:
- Uninstall (do not keep preferences...)
- With CC2018 uninstalled, I tried to open the file with CC2017 but could not due to incompatibility issues
- Re-installed CC2018 through Creative Cloud app from scratch (i.e., not using any preferences ...)

I can open other files without issue but these two files keep crashing InDesign.

Using PC / WIN10 (fully updated). I tried repeatedly and results are always the same, crash report is the same as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have a text file of the log.

In Open a File dialog select Open As Copy (by default Open As Normal is selected). There were cases when it worked. Won't hurt, anyway...

Using my Egnyte backup system, I had tried to open a interim saved copy (obviously not the final version which appears in my folder) with the same result - InDesign crashing. I then followed your advice and Open As Copy in the second last interim saved version, and it worked! I have a few tweaks to make but much better than redoing the whole file. Thank you!

If other files are working OK then clearly it is these two files that have become corrupted. There are services on the internet that will charge you to try and fix corrupted files. Adobe also has a URL that deals with corrupted or damaged files Troubleshoot damaged InDesign documents . Your best hope, though, is if you have an earlier version of the file or even a copy that was backed up someplace else. If that is the case then try opening one of those and before you try and work with it export it as an IDML. Then open that file with your current version of InDesign. Doing this can, in some cases, clean up a file of extraneous data and prevent corruption going forward. If you don't have backup copies of these then, hopefully, you'll make saving backups standard practice in the future.
