Hi all,

We have issue with latest version of InDesign CC2019 - updated v14.02

We working on Imacs 5K - 32 Go RAM - 512 SSD i5 3,2 Ghz - AMD Radeon R9 M380 2048 Mo and with InDesign CC2019-updated to the latest version (14.02).

We working with standard catalog pages ( double pages) , and we have issue with it : very slow to do anything, always have the spinning color wheel appears, when you select image, or a text, move inside page, etc...

We try on several Imacs, have the same troubles, with other double pages .... Just working with minimal applications open ( web browser and InDesign, no Photoshop, acrobat or else)

When when work with InDesign CC2018, all is fine.... so wants to know if someone have same results ? any ideas ? fixed with doing some setup ?

Try to change Preferences InDesing ( view standard mode, deactivate control, etc...) no way...

Best Regards,

Christian

Are you working on a network or a personal computer? If on a network try disconnecting and see if working locally makes a difference. If so then contact your network administrator to make sure that the network software has been updated to full compatibility with your operating system (neither you nor the OP has said what operating system you are using). Many times networks are not updated so as to maintain compatibility with Firewall and virus protection which can hinder the correct operation of newer graphics software.

Bill, I have tried this too, and when turning off all network connections INDD does indeed run better. When you said that networks are not updated and that can hinder correct operation of newer graphics software, what exactly do you mean about that? As this is the first time I've ever heard of that response. And I'm really curious. Thanks.

Are you working with high quality display? Change it to typical.

Turn off thumbnails in the pages panel

    Turn off live preflght

Any third party plugins? Font managers?

    I'd look at fonts.

Work on a duplicate of your document. Use Find Font to change one font to a base font. If you still have a problem, change the next font. Then the next, etc.

Also, where are the links in your document? Do the images reside over a network?
