Indesign Character Dropdown Freezes

Question

Once it is opened, it won't close and I can't access any other text settings. Has anyone else had the same issue? It seems like sometimes, after a few failed attempts, I can click on the top menu and it will close the dropdown.  I'm wondering if it's a bug or if there is some kind of setting I can change. This has only happened since I upgraded to Big Sur on my Mac.

I'm using Big Sur on a Mac (macOS 11.6) on my 2015 MacBook Pro. I'm running InDesign CC 16.4.

I'm not having that problem.

Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using.

Does this only happen one file or in all files?
