InDesign chokes on Open

I’m running InDesign 19.4.0.63 on a Mac Studio running MacOS Sonoma 14.5. Everything has been fine until this morning. Now I can’t open anything: ID hangs up the moment I try to open any document. I’ve nuked my preferences and caches and ultimately reinstalled ID. No improvement. ANyone have this experience? Any ideas?

Thanks Leo! Apparently there’s some fatal conflict between Sonoma and ID. Most of what I’ve found tells me to go back to Ventura, which I’ll do if things don’t improve. For now, I seem now to be able to work in ISD 19.3, so, onward...

Try this to troubleshoot:

Create a new user account in System Settings > Users & Groups and try to work from there.

If it doesn't make a difference, try to revert to InDesign 19.3 (you can do so from the Creative Cloud app):
