InDesign clipping path options not responding

Hey everyone!  Hoping you can help me out with this.

Mac User here.  I work primarily in production art, creating layouts with previously prepared photoshop images of garments with clipping paths already set for front and back views.  I've always been able to easily toggle between the two with the command that pops up the Clipping Path options window.

Normally, I have been able to just choose "photoshop path" and then choose between the available paths, but today when I tried doing this every time i click on one of the available paths, the options window won't respond and won't allow me to choose a path.  It's just stuck on the view that I place in the file.  They aren't new image files either, I have used the same ones several times before.

I tried updating all apps and restarting both the program as well as the computer, but it isn't helping.

Anyone know what could be causing this?  Thanks for any help.

    Since you have been able to do this up to now and know about the Clipping Path options under the Object menu it might be that either your InDesign preferences or Caches could be the source of your problem.

    To reset preferences:

    With InDesign closed Launch a Finder Window in column view and click on your home folder. With the Option Key pressed choose Library from the Finder Go Menu. Within the Library folder find the folder called Preferences and within it find the following two files and delete them: “Adobe InDesign” and “com.adobe.InDesign.plist”. When InDesign is next launched it will create new preference files and the program will be restored to its defaults.

    After you’ve reset up the program (make sure that no document window is open), it is a really good idea to create copies of your personalized “mint” preference files (make sure that you quit the program before copying them—that finalizes your customization) and use them in the future to replace any corrupt versions you may need to delete.

    To delete your InDesign caches:

    With InDesign closed launch a Finder Window in column view and click on your home folder. With the Option Key pressed choose Library from the Finder Go Menu. Within the Library folder find the “Caches” folder. Within the Caches folder find and delete the entire file “Adobe InDesign”. I find that deleting the cache file completely leads to a lasting change.

    Thanks for the help!  When you say to launch a finder window and click on home folder, when I go into the Library>Preferences, I'm not seeing the two files you said to delete.

    Are you working in a company that has an IT department? I've seen it before where they don't allow access to these files so they don't show up. Try instead to hold down Command, Option and Shift as you launch InDesign. You should get a message asking if you want to reset preferences (or words to that effect) and you should answer yes. This should reset your InDesign back to default.

    Is this with every InDesign file or just one? If it’s the current file, try exporting to IDML. If it’s all files, it sounds like corrupt preferences.
