InDesign Contextual Bar Missing

Hello all,

Currently in search of the contextual bar in InDesign. It is switched on in the Window tab. And while I do have additional monitors, it is not hiding in any of them. So I'm quite confused as to where it could be. Did the last update remove it altogether?

Any assitance would be very much appreciated.

Hi Paola:

No, it is still toggled on/off with Window > Contextual Taskbar. I would:

  1. Toggle it off and back on. Maybe it will show up.
  2. Reset your workspace: Window > Workspace > Reset XYZ Workspace. Repeat step 1 if you still don't see it.
  3. Last resort: reset preferences. https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-rebuilding-preferences-cache/

Reseting my preferences did the trick.

Thank you so much, Barb! 🫶🏽
