Indesign crash error bug on PDF export - Mac - December 2023

Indesign is crashing for the past week or so since the MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2 update alllmost every time I export a pdf. Guarenteed if it is the second time I've exported a PDF since beginning work, and Adobe Acrobat is still open (even if the previous exported file is closed). Especially problematic if exporting the same document twice in a row and trying to replace the previous pdf, which is standard practice for me as a designer, always some change or another.

I work from dropbox on the regular which is worth mentioning although not normally an issue. Connection to the internet is fine, latest Adobe apps etc.

Main workhorse: Mac Studio M1 Max with 1TB HD + 64GB RAM + 2 x external monitors, LG + Samsung.

Sidekick: 13.6” MacBook Air M2 2022 with 512GB HD + 16GB RAM

Did your problem start after updating from Ventura or an earlier version of Sonoma?

As you may know, InDesign doesn't officially support Sonoma yet. You issues may or may not be related to this.

Multiple sources report that upcoming macOS 14.2 will solve known InDesign issues on Sonoma. 14.2 is in late beta stages. You can install the beta and see if it solves your issues (with all the precautions and disclaimers related to beta software).

@Creative Overlord reported he was running Sonoma 14.1.2 so no doubt that is the cause of the problem. AppleInsider and MacRumors both report that Sonoma 14.2 (as well as new iOS versions) are now available as a Release Candidate for developers (last version before release) and predict release in the next few days.

Confirming update to 14.2 fixed my issue (I'm not a beta tester or developer so had to wait for the real one).
