Question

InDesign crashes every time I open it and try to change a font

Every time there is a computer restart (which is very frequent, as Indesign constantly freezes and/or crashes) this will happen. I work with type a lot, and I will be going to the fonts to change the font to something other than the default. Immediately, Indesign will crash. No freezing, no pausing--it just crashes and disappears. Then the crash report comes up.

Why is this? Has anyone experienced this? This is NOT in infrequent problem--it is literally every single time the program is freshly opened.

Hi Faith,

Please let me know the below information:

1. OS?

2. InDesign version.

3. Any screenshots.

4. Please share the crash report. If this is big, you may send this as a personal message.

You may try to reset the preferences as suggested above and check the performance.

Thanks,
Nikhil Gupta

Hi,

Are you working on MAC 10.12.4 and have a compatible GPU then please turn off GPU from preferences and then try...

Otherwise, please try cleaning your InDesign cache and preferences...Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences
