Please help!

My InDesign won’t launch! 😞

I bought my MacBook a couple of weeks back, so it’s brand new and I’ve just installed Creative Cloud and the various apps. Now it simply won’t launch InDesign. I’ have only opened it once, just for a quick view and it worked fine. And I haven’t worked on any projects, added plug-ins … so it’s totally new and crisp. So I really don’t understand it!?

I thought everything would run smoothly on a brand new Macbook!

I really don’t get it!

  • I have tried uninstall/reinstall
  • Restart computer
  • I cant’ launch previous versions either 😞

Hopefully someone can help me, I’m desperate!

Hi @Nicolai283296049edn,

Sorry about the crashing! I know that's really frustrating. I would request you to please share a few more details like:

  • Please confirm the exact version of the InDesign.
  • Please share a screenshot of the panel at which it is crashing.
  • Did you use the CC Cleaner tool to uninstall the app?
  • Submit the crash report by following the steps suggested here ( https://adobe.ly/3B1R6NW).
While submitting the crash report, please use the same email address with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.

Also, I would suggest you try the following steps and let us know if it helps:

  • Try running the app in Safe Mode  (Mac) & Root account (Mac)?
  • Close all Adobe applications and manually reset preferences by renaming the folders from the following locations:
    ~/Library/Caches
    ~/Library/Preferences
Rename Adobe InDesign and com.adobe.InDesign to Adobe InDesign.old and com.adobe.InDesign.old and
launch InDesign from the Creative Cloud app
  • Rename the CEP folder to CEP.old from the following location:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe
  • If that doesn't help, rename the UXP folder to UXP.old in the following location:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe

We are here to help. We just need more information.

Thanks,
