Question

Indesign crashes on opening

InDesign doesn't open unless I remove the preferences each time. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, opening from the application instead of file. It just shows the intro screen for a second then doesn't open. It's not a specific file as even if I create a new file and quit, the next time I open I have to remove preferences or it won't load. I have a new Macbook Pro running Ventura 13.0. Any ideas?

How did you do this? Did you try this way? Quit InDesign and relaunch it while holding down the Shift, Ctrl, Alt and Cmd keys until you see a warning message asking for confirmation.

Yes I launch holding down the Shift, Ctrl, Alt and Cmd keys and confirm. This is the only way it will open at the moment.

And you still have the problem? So follow @Eugene Tyson instructions.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

---

If that's not working try starting in Safe Mode

And launch only InDesign

If it opens fine then you know it's something else on your computer interfering.

I just tried in Safe Mode and it still doesn't open.

Will try the cleaner tool, thanks!
