Question

Indesign crashes on quit and doesn't export PDF.

Hi,

I'm using MacOS 13.3.1 and the most recent version of Indesign, but I tried previous versions and it has the same problem.

Everytime I try to export a PDF, in any file, the same error occurs:

"Failed to export PDF. This could be due to issues in certain pages or assets. Please check and try again."

I even tried to export a blank file, and it does the same thing.

Also, everytime I quit Indesign, it crashes.

I tried to uninstall, delete all the preference files, cache files, everything, and install again; it works for like some minutes and it starts with the same problems again. I tried a lot of things, actually, and nothing solves the problem.

I really need help, because my deadlines are coming for me lol

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Is this happening with all documents of just one? If it's just one use the divide and rule system to try and isolate the corruption. If it's all documents then, assuming you have the correct system specs, including plenty of RAM and spare hard disk capacity, it may be worth considering using the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove copies of InDesign and install a fresh version of the application.

I forgot to say that it is a macOS Ventura.
