InDesign Crashing every time I add content from MS Word

Every time I add content  (ctr +D) the application just closes.
Is  anyone else facing this issue, I am facing this after the latest update.
Any solution would be appreciated.

Does it closes right after clicking CTRL+D - or after you select WORD file and click Open?

 

Try resetting preferences:

Try first saving the MS Word doc as .doc (not .doc x) see if it works better.

 

If it doesn't - in the .doc file (not .docx) select all and change the font to something like Arial or Calibri or Times

 

See if that makes any difference

Hello @pruthvi_1991,

I hope Eugene's suggestions helped. If not, please check if InDesign behaves this way with all files, or files stored in a particular folder location (Internal/External/Network drive or a cloud-synced folder, like Dropbox/Google Drive/etc.) and confirm the version of the OS/InDesign installed, so I can better assist you.

Also, try running InDesign under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
