InDesign crashing mid table editing

Hi!

So I started working on imported Excel file which is 30+ pages long.

Everything was working fine until I decided to edit a cell style I've created and used multiple times prior on this exact same document. I opened the edit bar, made the changes and the program froze, then crashed.

I thought this was a one-time thing but I've tried to edit it now for over 10 times.

Before you advise me: yes I have restarted the computer and yes I have reinstalled the program.

Please help me, I am so desperate since I have a due date for this project coming soon.

Thank you!

If a document is not behaving well then try

File>Export

Choose IDML

Open the IDML in InDesign
Save the file as a new InDesign file with a new name
See if the issue persists.

======

Try resetting your preferences:

Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.
Further info and instructions here if needed:

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
