InDesign Crashed whenever I click anything in the top ribbon(i.e. File, etc).

TroubleShooting
- Windows Updates
- Dell Command Update
- Updated GPU Driver through Dell and Nvidia
- Tried the steps in the help article https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/crash-on-launch.html
- Cleared InDesign preferences, problem persisted
- Double check system requirements
- Checked for InDesign Updates
- No plugin Conflicts
- No installed fonts (brand new install)
- sfc /scannow didnt help
- Checked File permissions
The super werid thing is when my orginzations IT Desk remotes into the computer using BeyondTrust Remote Support Cleint, InDesign wont crash. The setting that seems to be causeing it was "Color Quality Optimized - Few colors". While on this setting while someone is remoted into my laptop it wont crash. What could cause a problem like this within only InDesign?

Hi @comic_8817,

I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after trying so many troubleshooting steps. Let’s try a few other things you can try:

1.Display Settings: Since the issue seems linked to display settings when someone remotes into your computer, try lowering the resolution or adjusting the color depth locally. You can do this in Display Settings > Advanced Display Settings. This might help reduce crashes.

2.Safe Mode: You can also try running Windows in Safe Mode. This will disable third-party software and drivers, allowing you to check if the crash is caused by something else running in the background.

3.Roll Back Graphics Driver: If the crashes started after a last or recent graphics driver update, try rolling it back to (n-2) earlier version of the GPU driver.

Let me know how it goes, and we can troubleshoot further if needed.

Best,
