InDesign CS3 data migration issue

I had a crash of the motherboard (display/graphics/video card) on my old imac. I bought a new (used) one with an OSX similar to what I previously had to make sure I could retrieve files etc. (I didn't need to go too new for now). I did a data migration, and everything came across, but the InDesign application said that it was 'missing files':  (/Library/Application Support/Adobe/TypeSupport/.../ROMAN.TXT) and needed to be re-installed. I have no idea on God's good green earth where those disks might be. I used InDesign to design my book which was published in November in the UK. I need the files to design the sequel. I am stuck. While I am happy to move up to CC, I just bought a used imac that may not be capable of running it. I was happy with the imac I had. As I said I was afraid to go too new for now, because I needed to be able to access what I already had. Any suggestions?

I did a 'chat' with Adobe. They could find my older version, but no registration for my CS3 version. I know I bought it, it is on the new 'desktop'. I just can't open it. Adobe says that without a serial# I am stuck. If I remember, when the application launches, the serial number shows up in the launch box. With a crashed video display - I can't even see that number.

    If you have discussed this with Adobe support and they say you can't run without a serial number which you don't know, there's absolutely nothing we can do for you in this forum. This forum is largely  made up of InDesign users like you and we have no power to change the reality of the situation. Sorry.

    Thank you. The forum has been helpful in the past with certain layout operations, and I thought that someone might have encountered this problem in the past. Adobe did what they could.

    I may need to set aside some tech-fear issues and see what I can do about an across-the-board up-grade of systems and software. The older I get, it seems, the steeper the learning curve. I have been plodding along, happy not to spend time learning much new, as I try to remember what I once knew.

    A friend in NYC asked me to take his Audi so he wouldn't have to spend $400 in long term parking. I couldn't figure out how to change the station on the radio.

    I wish I could offer more help but CS3 is really pretty old. You've undoubtedly gotten a lot of use from it, but it won't even run on any modern operating systems, macOS or Windows.
