I posted my problems trying to install the CS3 suite on my replacement imac the other day and thought I had it all solved. I tried to run indesin today and found blank boxes and no control over it so I found the update on the Adobe site and installed it. I hung up but appeared top have worked because the version number was updated.

When i tried to run it, I got an error message about conflicting plug ins and had to force quit. I removed the plug in mentioned and still it did the same thing.

So now I am stuck.

BTW, I also updated to High Sierra.

CS3 is in no way supported for High Sierra (CC 2018 is actually the only version that is fully compatible with High Sierra). If your replacement iMac is a new model it will not be possible to roll its OS back to Yosemite which is the last version that I think supported a version as old as CS3. You will have to get a subscription to Creative Cloud if you want to run InDesign on a new Mac with the latest OS.
