Indesign Cs4 Start Up Issue

I installed CS4 onto a new Macbook Pro.

All programs work fine except when I open Indesign - it doesn't fully open to the 'new document' start up screen. It's all just blank. Here's a screenshot.

Any ideas?

Take the time to look at the InDesign forum postings over the past few weeks. Or do a search on "InDesign CS4 and High Sierra".

It doesn't matter that Illustrator and Photoshop may work, InDesign does not. They are different pieces of software.

You first sentence answered the question: CS4 is too old to run High Sierra (macOS 10.13), which is what you would be running on a new MacBook Pro.

You must upgrade to InDesign CC which requires a subscription. Because you have a new computer, you can't roll back to an earlier macOS version, I'm afraid.

How come all the other software works then? Photoshop and Illustrator are fine.
