Indesign CS6 (Mac) on separate hard drive from other CS6 apps?

With Mac OS 10.14 set to break 32-bit programs I'm looking for a way to continue using Indesign CS6. Right now I have the PS CS6 and Indesign CS6 installed on both my iMac and MBP.

Here is what I'm thinking of doing -- will it work? I'm unsure if you can "break up" CS6 components onto separate drives.

Uninstall CS6 from these computers.

Create a bootable portable hard drive with OS 10.13

Install Indesign CS6 on this drive.

I'd boot into this drive when I needed to use Indesign, which honestly, isn't too often and why I see no reason to upgrade to CC.

CS6 is not supported on any Mac OS later than 10.10. If you still have it working, I would advise against any further changes.
