InDesign CS6 suddenly stopped opening mini bridge tab

I have been using InDesign CS6 for a few years as standalone on a Mac with OS Sierra and suddenly the mini bridge tab (and the others associated e.g. folio) fail to open when I click on Window>>Mini Bridge... just nothing happens now. Have tried the usual reboots to no avail. Found an old hint that suggested deleting the Switchboard folder before rebooting but that had no effect. Not sure where I can go from here.... no recent hits on the FAQ DB I can find. Help please. InDesign is pretty difficult to use with Finder on its own.

Note that CS6 is not supported on Sierra, but if you want to keep trying the next step is to delete your preferences files. There are two techniques outlined in the post. If the first doesn't work, try the second:

Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences

You can always use Bridge instead of Finder if InDesign is otherwise working, and you can't get Mini-Bridge back.

Hi Barb, many thanks for that prompt reply. I tried the renaming technique and whilst it built new files I couldn't get the mini-bridge to work. So I reverted back to the old files. ID is working OK (barring a few odd crashes) otherwise so I will explore using Bridge itself.

There is no option to reinstall the last app upgrade (if still available)?

I realise I am on borrowed time with OS concurrency and support but it seems Adobe want to shoe-horn users into a few small user groups and offer pricing towards them which makes things very expensive. I am a (good) social photographer and I like to create books that reflect my photography skills....so I use only Lightroom and Indesign pretty much together to do the job. The Adobe pricing plan would cost me nearly £400 a year (it's 'photography',one app or 'all') ....I don't mind paying for function but that's way too much.

    Thanks again...
