InDesign Dictionary (Set to English:USA) missing BASIC words

Hello all,

On my most recent  "Check Spelling," my InDesign dictionary (which is set to English:USA, as I like it) did not recognize many of the most basic words we use.

Amongst those it identified as unknown were: 'off', 'fit,' 'flip' and 'trim'. Words like 'router' and 'ultimately' presented no problems.

This is new from the most recent update, as far as I can tell. Any advice?

I am not having that issue. After running spellcheck, it did not flag any of those words:

InDesign 14.0.3

So, did you check that the individual words are assigned the language English: US? Highlight one and check Type > Character.
