InDesign documents won't open?

Hi

I am using Adobe Indesign 2026 and recently discovered that none of my documents open when clicked on in the Home screen. I tried clearing up space on my computer (over a GB of storage was freed), but that didn’t solve the problem. When I click on the desired files in my Finder window, nothing happens either.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue?

My macOS version is Sonoma 14.5. I believe Indesign is fully updated. It appears to be version 21.3, if I’m not mistaken.

When I click on a file in the Open menu, again, nothing happens.

First, update Sonoma to its latest version - will it make a difference?

Can you create new documents? Does the program show any sign of life at all, i.e. do you see the Menu bar, Tool Bar and Panels when you open the program?
