InDesign ePub to iBooks export question

Hello,

When I export my ePub file to iBooks - it creates a new file for every export.

Is there a way for the export to simply update the old file?

Thanks so much!

Hi. Again, thank you for writing back.

Well. That was kind of dumb of me. However it doesn't seem to be changing the behavior of adding a new file each time.

If it is not super obvious, I am teaching myself how to make a reflowable ebook.

That's a books issue, not InDesign.

If you're testing this stuff out, you'll need to delete the old files before loading the new one.

Not nearly enough info.

  • What version of InDesign?
  • What operating system?
  • What are your epub export setting?

Answer those and post some screenshots, too.

My apologies. That was pretty dumb of me. I appreciate you writing back. Okay. Here we go.

System:

MacOs 10.14.2

InDesign CC 14.0

Books.app 1.16 (16361)

My export to ePub settings:

The javascript and metadata screens are empty.

My Books app quickly looks like this:

I have to imagine there is something really simple I am missing. I would like the file to just be replaced with the new version. Is that possible?

For starters, use version 3 for EPUB version.
