InDesign Exports Interactive PDF with Blurred Images

Hello, 

Myself and the other designer on my team have been having an issue lately with a handful of InDesign files exporting Interactive PDFs with blurred images. This never seemed to happen until recent. 

We tried EVERYTHING under the sun to try and find a solution to the issue. Different file formats, different resolutions, different settings, etc. but are still running into this annoying issue. 

The main concern at hand currently is that the logo of the file keeps exporting with weird pixelation/graininess. It used to be on the images of the products as well, but I did find that a resolution of 72 dpi somehow fixed that issue. It did not work for the logo though. 

I attached the file with the issue and also a screenshot of the link information of the logo. If anyone has answers to this, please let us know!

If your layout is intended for Printing, I would make the pictures 300ppi at the H&W you are putting them on the page.

Logos should be vector; not pixels. Use the Adobe Illustrator .AI file for vector. If you do not have a vector original, the pixel-based logo should be at least 800ppi at the H&W you are sizing it on the page.

 

Even for a web-flavored PDF, I would make graphics at least 200ppi.

Just in case: did you try a different compression type?

 

Also, do you have the same issue when you export as regular PDF (not interactive)?

I did try several compression types but had no luck! I did not have the same issue when exporting as a PRINT PDF but for this specific item, it HAD to be an Interactive PDF due to all the interactive elements within it.

THIS WORKED!

 

I thought of this originally but I guess I did not go small enough. However, at the exact size of the logo on the file and making it an EPS vector file, it worked like a gem.

Instead of EPS - obsolete - use PDF or AI.

 

And which logo is the problem? Even with 300% zoom everything looks fine for me?
