Hallo, seit heute fährt mein Indesign nicht mehr hoch, auch Neustarts helfen nicht. Ich habe nichts geändert oder aktualisiert und weiß nicht, woran es liegen könnte. Wer hat einen Tipp?

Are you on a mac? There's an issue I've had repeatedly with InDesign that has to do with apple thinking the app is damaged. There is a similar thread here but for lightroom, but the fix is basically the same: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-ecosystem-cloud-based-discussions/lr-app-is-damaged/m-p/15421302#M105950

If the answer wasn't in my post, perhaps it might be on my blog at colecandoo!

Hi kerstinw44385951,

Just checking in to check how things are going? Were you able to resolve the issue, or are you still experiencing the same behavior?

Thanks,
Nikunj

Hi @kerstinw44385951,

I hope Derek's suggestion to reset the preferences helped get InDesign running again. If not, could you let me know which version of InDesign and OS you're using? Also, does the app fail to launch completely or does it get stuck at a certain point during startup? In the meantime, you can try the steps in this article: https://adobe.ly/4184Pgi. If the problem continues, please try starting your computer in safe mode to rule out any third-party conflicts:

Windows: https://adobe.ly/4mtJ2by
macOS: https://adobe.ly/45TsP9r

Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Abhishek

Assuming you have plenty of RAM and spare disk capacity, try resetting the InDesign preferences back to the factory defaults, which may sort the issuse out.

You can do that manually:
Launch InDesign and quickly hold down the following keys:
Windows: Shift+Ctrl+Alt
Mac OS: Shift+Control+Option+Command

When prompted to delete the InDesign Preferences, click Yes
(If you don't see the question repeat the exercise.)
