InDesign File as an editable pdf?

Hi everyone!

I created an InDesign File which will be a pdf document. The future pdf document needs to have some editable fields. It is better to extract an interactive pdf file? And how could I extract the pdf that not all pages are interactive, but only those pages which have the editable fields? Can I define the editable fields with InDesign or shall I make the fields with acrobat?

I suppose that my customers only have the free version of pdf editor. Which one could I recommend for my customers?

Cheers,

Irma

You can make form fields in InDesign CS6 and later. They work in Acrobat only if you export to an Interactive PDF.

When you make a Print or Interactive PDF, It's for the entire PDF, not for selected pages.

When you make the PDF, you select which version of Acrobat the user needs to open the PDF. I think the default is Acrobat 6 or 7.

When you make fields using InDesign, you may (will) need to tweek them in Acrobat Pro. But you can do most of the work in InDesign.

Your users shoud have at least Acrobat XI unless you give them permission to save the file, etc. That is included with Acrobat XI and DC but not with earlier versions. Ask if you don't know how.
