Hi there,

My indesign file has just corrupted with error code 6 and now It will not open again.

This assignment is due tomorrow and it is 50 hours of work. I have tried deleteing the recovery files in the cache but It hasn't worked.

Can anyone let me know how to fix it or recover an older version of it

I have uploaded the file to dropbox here

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2a4vljm84ydb6ll/Manukau%20slides.indd?dl=0

Thank you

Ok, I managed to make the corrupted file open after deleteing the recovery files and then saved it as a Markup document and it has opened to the last saved version so that it good!

Thanks!

  1. The version of InDesign you’re using.
  2. Your operating system details (Windows/Mac and version).
  3. Was the file saved locally, on the cloud, or on a remote location?

Hi Faisal,

what's your operating system?

On Windows 10 the default for the cache files for eg. InDesign 2020 version 15.1.1 is:

USERNAME > AppData > Local > Adobe > InDesign > Version 15.0

Quit InDesign, delete the whole folder and restart InDesign.

When in doubt zip the Version 15.0 folder before you remove it.
