InDesign Fonts missing

My issue is that I have recently installed InDesign on a new laptop when my old one died. When opening document files that I had worked on just days before on the old laptop, InDesign complained about missing fonts, and when I try to find them on Adobe's site or through the InDesign app, they are nowhere to be found. These are the two most important ones for me:

 

Advent Pro

QuickType II Condensed

 

The documents that reference these fonts were created in October of this year. I can't understand how they are now suddenly nowhere to be found. I would greatly appreciate any insight into this issue.

Sure. Any Font installed to the OS Fonts folder will show up in every program installed on your system.

 

I always make a Backup of the OS Fonts folder so I can install them on other systems and or when I buy/build a new system.

 

To install fonts after they are downloaded and saved someplace on your hard drive and or Copied to a folder on your drive (NOT the Fonts folder) just Right Click on them and select Install.

Neither of those fonts you list are available from the Adobe Fonts library. But a Google search does find them.

Just Shoot Me, thanks for the quick replies! So are you saying I should be able to install the fonts outside of CC and then they should be available to InDesign?

You can always install fonts in the default location for your operating system and they will be available to your Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign.

Fonts are part of the OS install and any subsequent Font installs that you did. These extra fonts can come from installing some programs, like the older Adobe programs, but that are not included with the newer installs of the CC apps. You can use the Font section of the Creative Cloud Desktop app to install, actually Use not really install, fonts.
