InDesign Freezes, Keyboard Stops Responding, and App Cannot Be Closed with Dropbox saved files

Question

This is happening all the time i’m running the most up to date version and most up to date version of windows. I acces files on drop box could this be causing the issue?

Hi everyone,Thanks again for all the reports and testing shared in this thread.To help with the ongoing investigation, could anyone who previously experienced the spinning cursor/freezing while placing or updating files please confirm whether the issue still occurs in InDesign 21.5 or later?If you can still reproduce it, please try the workaround mentioned earlier: go to InDesign Preferences via the Edit menu, disable the Generative AI options, and test the workflow again to see if that prevents the freeze.Please share your results here. When you say “most up to date”,could you please confirm if you’re on InDesign 21.3 and Windows 11.Could you also let me know if you see the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog when the issue occurs. If yes, please submit the report and share the email used via DM so I can check the logs from our end. You can refer to this guide: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.htmlSince you’re working with Dropbox, please try opening and working with a file saved locally on your system and confirm if the issue is limited to Dropbox files.Additionally, please test the behavior in Safe Mode and in a new user account to check if any third-party apps or account-specific settings might be causing this.
