InDesign freezes when I try to change a font in a paragraph style

I've restarted my computer and tried to start a new document from scratch but keep getting the same issue. I notice the apps are loading or frozen in the creative cloud so wondering if that has anything to do with it.

When have you installed CC? Fresh installation or long time ago?

Which version of InDesign are you using?
Are you using macOS or Windows, and which version?
Does the freezing occur with any font or specific ones?
Are you using any third-party font manager or plug-ins? If yes, Try removing those and test the issue.
Is the font Adobe font or a local/third-party?

Try to log out of Creative Cloud, then log back in. Will it make a difference?
