indesign freezing after a minute or two of use, nothing helps

hello,

Ive been trying to get indesign to work on my laptop fot the past three hours. everything was fine until a couple of hours ago the app started freezing up. i am working on a small project (7 MB) and whenever I start moving objects, scrolling down or just pressing 'W' to toggle the view it freezes.

there is no error message, the rest on my computer works fine. i tried deleting prefences, restarting the laptop, reinstalling the app, older versions, and even completely reinstalling adobe cloud (with the cloud cleaner tool). nothing works. it continues to crash.

I made a copy of the document and it crashes as well.

im working on a tight timeline for this project and really need it to work.

Is it happening with only this document? If so then rather than just making a copy of it try exporting it as an IDML file (File>Export>InDesign Markup(IDML)). Then try opening the IDML in your version of InDesign. This process can often be successful in removing some corruption from a file.
