Question

InDesign freezing when trying to change margins & columns

This happened 3 times in the past 2 days. InDesign just freezes when I try to navigate to the Margins & Columns menu. It does not always do that seems to just happen when I navigate to the menu too quickly(?) Meaning, click on Layout and then quickly after clicking on Margins and Columns.

 

Seems kinda weird, but I found an older Post from 2018 which describes a similiar problem, so it seems to be a thing.

I completely understand how frustrating this must feel, especially when you're just trying to get work done. Freezing like this can sometimes be linked to specific UI interactions or a corrupted preference file. Could you try resetting InDesign preferences once and let me know if it changes the behavior? Also, if possible, please confirm the OS and InDesign version you're on, and whether this happens with all files or only a few. A short screen recording would be really helpful for us to check this further with the team.

That does sound frustrating. Could you confirm the version of the OS/InDesign installed on your computer and if this happens with every file, so I can better assist you? Also, try the suggestions shared here (https://adobe.ly/4nS2gZp) and let us know if it helps.

All I can confirm is that your app has nothing to do with professional software anymore. You guys are lucky you run a monopoly.
