InDesign frequently crashes after exporting PDF

Has anyone ever noticed that InDesign is most likely to crash after exporting to PDF? It used to happen to me with the Intel version and now the same with the Apple Silicon version. After finishing the export, I always anticipate a crash, especially if you continue to work on the same file after.
