Indesign functionality query

Is there any existing plug-in that will enable the following: If a number in a table in Indesign is updated manually, it will automatically update in other tables on different pages of the same Indesign document?

Text variables are implemented by the Text.rpln that comes with InDesign.

Just kidding.

Are you searching to purchase such a plugin or do you intend to implement it? In that case I'd suggest to first have a look at scripting, sounds doable with less effort.
