Indesign hanging issue while xmlload with idmerge option with old xml over new XML

While xml content loaded in the indesign document, an updated xml content was import using xmlimport with idmerge option to reflow the xml tag with content instead of not altering the textframes and other layout. By using this xml contents will be overwrite with the existing tagging placed in the current document. In some cases, the xml reflow using idmerge option Indesign Application hangs or text repetation takes place. Could anyone have faced this xml reflow with revised xml in a existing indesign document will helpful for text repetation as well as indesign hanging issue.
