InDesign Header Bar

Why does the header bar with the file name of the document show the file name twice and the header bar is so thick? How do I just show the file name once and make the bar thinner?

Thanks

C

Hello, can you share a screenshot or a screen video ? Are you with the last Indesign update ? Can you tell us more about your system and computer.
All this infos will be great to help you and find the answer to this issue 😉

I use 2024 but it happens in 2025. Mac - Sequoia. This has been going on for a while and it's annoying. When I open a doc, the bottom of the window (the bottom frame) is out of view. I have to hold down the Control key and press the + GREEN icon to get my widow to resize so I have the full window on my monitor. I don't use application frame either. Attached is what the top bar looks like. Why is the file name displayed twice and the bar so thick?

Hi @Christopher3440329747o5,

Thank you for the information you have provided so far. Could you please verify if you are using an external monitor and if this problem occurs only when the document is opened on that screen, rather than your main display? Additionally, as the expert recommended, it would be very beneficial if you could provide a brief screen recording that demonstrates the startup of InDesign followed by the opening of a document, so I can better understand how the window behaves. Furthermore, please inform me if there are any custom scaling or display zoom settings applied on your Mac.

I look forward to your response.
