InDesign - how to tell pixel width from other items besides measure tool

There might already be an answer for this question on this forum, sorry if there is. I'm looking for a feature that Sketch has where you can tell the pixel length from another item/object on the page (hold Alt/Option) and it will tell you this information without having to use a measure tool which is tedious. Does InDesign have this or is there a release that is planning on adding this? It's probably the most useful feature that Sketch has which is why I prefer it over InDesign for some tasks (haven't tried XD yet, on my TO-DO list).

Thanks for any suggestions!

Justin

Hover the gap tool between the two objects and hold your mouse button down. The gap will be displayed.

Have you looked in the info panel?

Hi Justin:

You can right click each of the rulers to change them to pixels (or just change the units to pixels in Preferences > Units & Increments). Then select an object and the width and height will be displayed as pixels.

Sorry let me clarify my question probably wasn't worded that great. I'm trying to tell the distance between objects on my page automatically without having to use a measure tool and guides which is time consuming. Please see attached screenshot from Sketch. showing this.

Ah, thanks for clarifying.

InDesign can display the X and Y offsets from the reference point in the proxy (distance from the zero point‚ normally the top left of the paper but can be customized) but it is not a tool that is normally used for web page design or app design, so no there is no equivalent feature.

If you are going to use InDesign for this and find the Measure tool too slow, see if moving the zero point is helpful. Drag the cross hairs to a new location on the page. Double click them to reset to their original positions. I think you'd be better off in a different application.
