InDesign/InCopy SharePoint workflow issues

Hi,

We are having issues with our InDesign/InCopy workflow.

We have been attempting to use Microsoft SharePoint Online as our working file storage and have run into throttling issues in SharePoint when we reach peak activity on our deadline days (we are a small newspaper company).

We would like to know if there are any tuning and/or configuration parameters available in InDesign and/or InCopy to reduce the number of system calls, or to pace the system calls so that we don't trigger throttling.

Our designers/InDesign users are running modern iMacs running Mojave 10.14, while our writers/InCopy users are running Windows 10 PC's running a variety of builds.

We currently have five designers running InDesign, and approximately twenty-five InCopy users.

Any advice is welcome.

Regards,

Chris P

You’re not the first to report issues with SharePoint based workflows.

    Try using OneDrive or Dropbox.

    Hi Bob,

I should have stated our situation more thoroughly.

We have been using OneDrive for Business as the interface for SharePoint Online, that is what is driving the throttling issue.

Dropbox and other cloud storage solutions are not options at this point.

I don’t use SharePoint so I really can’t speak from experience. I’m going on some other reports.

As a troubleshooting step, create the OneDrive folders without SharePoint involved. If it all works, you’ll have your answer.
